Leonidas Afterwork: Blockchain

The first public Leonidas Afterwork was held on January 11, 2017 and the topic of the day was blockchain. Our friends from Chainfrog, Keir Finlow-Bates and Kimmo Rouhiainen, were the professional speakers of the evening. We learned how blockchain works, when to use it instead of a database and what kind of applications benefit from blockchain. The cherry on the cake was Keir’s hands-on session with Q&A.

Keir Finlow-Bates, Chainfrog

Chainfrog is the first blockchain company in Finland. They have five patents pending in the US, and they have a solution for making the technology more environmentally friendly. Chainfrog helps other companies utilize blockchain with lectures, workshops and consulting. Their productized path shortens the time to take blockchain in use.

Chainfrog’s story was recently published on Tampere All Bright. You can read more here:

For more info, there’s a Ballmerin Piikki blockchain podcast, recorded with Keir and Kimmo. Enjoy!

I’m interested in the possibilities of the modern web. The speed of development and massive opportunities are breathtaking. I enjoy the results every day - great services, tons of free information, connections with other people. It’s fascinating to live in this era of digitalization. On the other hand I see a lot of potential there’s yet to be tapped. Enterprises should streamline their services by bringing together backend systems and great user experience. If there's a business idea that needs to fly or a pain waiting to be cured, let's work together!
